Why Use a Flammable Solvent Ultrasonic Cleaner?
Using an ultrasonic cleaner is beneficial for many reasons including giving an extremely thorough clean in a very short period of time. Ultrasonic waves create enough force to remove stubborn contaminants from an object's surface in a gentle yet effective process.
While water-based cleaners are popular for ultrasonic cleaning, it’s often desirable to use acetone or isopropyl alcohol (IPA) due to their degreasing properties and the fact they evaporate quickly. But these flammable solvents create a hazard when used with a standard ultrasonic cleaner. That’s where a flammable solvent ultrasonic cleaner comes in.
Also called an explosion proof ultrasonic cleaner or IPA ultrasonic cleaner, this specialized unit is safe to use with flammable materials, including ethanol, IPA, acetone, hexane, cyclohexane, and methyl ethyl ketone (MEK).
