The price of greatness is responsibility: Winston Churchill Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility
Ultrasonic Power Corporation consistently operates under the principles and values of CSR because it is seen as the way of doing business at every level. Every action of each employee working together can make a huge difference both for our business and the wider environment. For instance, when we partnered with Music and Arts at the Salvation Army's Festival of Worship Arts and Commissioning, June 6-8, we got just as much joy out of it as the people we helped. Music and Arts had several instrument repair techs on site to give a professional ultrasonic cleaning at a discounted price for the Commissioning Event. UPC provided the equipment at this event at no charge to give back to this great organization.
Lisa Serafini, our Technical Sales Executive, who attended the event, said, Multiple instruments were cleaned at once in baskets within our 90 gallon ultrasonic cleaning system and, with an assembly line approach, we were cranking out clean instruments rather quickly. It's better than chemical dips for the tech doing the cleaning, it's healthier for the person playing the instrument, it's safer on the brass instruments than chemical dips, and better for the environment as well,‚ she continued. At the end of the day, many people were able to benefit from a cleaner, safer, more environmentally-friendly approach to instrument cleaning, and everyone felt well about it, not to mention they went home with a clean instrument! We also place great importance on responsibility to the environment. Our systems utilize water-based, biodegradable detergents that are highly effective, with no negative impact on the environment. In fact, as our own Steve Myers said, the detergents eliminate the need for harsh solvents‚ are easier to dispose of than solvents‚ cost significantly less‚ and have no ozone depleting substances.‚ We believe a great product is made even better when neither the environment nor people are put in jeopardy. This type of corporate social and environmental responsibility extends throughout our company, with multiple community events we take part in, on and off campus, as well as through the individual employees‚ hardworking, exceptional people who are constantly working to help better our community and our business. We even had a weeding and watermelon Wednesday‚ two weeks ago, enjoying sunshine and teamwork to beautify the UPC campus. This attitude promotes ownership and pride in the business.
