Ultrasonic Power Corporation Introduces Ultra-Glide™ Gantry and Modular Tank Ultrasonic Cleaning System

Ultrasonic Power Corporation Introduces Ultra-Glide™ Gantry and Modular Tank Ultrasonic Cleaning System

FREEPORT, IL…Ultrasonic Power Corporation has introduced the Ultra-Glide™ gantry system with Modular Tank flexibility to maximize the ultrasonic cleaning process.

Designed to replace expensive and complex customized systems with long lead times, the Ultra-Glide™ transport gantry is configured with pre-engineered, standard consoles.

Manufacturers and business seeking precision cleaning can now configure their own customized cleaning system with multiple purpose tanks-such as pre-wash, wash, rinse, rinse with DI water, coat, and dry--using pre-engineered, standard consoles at a portion of the cost of a custom system.

Because UPC uses standard sized ultrasonic cleaning tanks with 39, 90, 135 and 204 gallon capacity, customers can be assured speedy delivery.

The overhead Ultra-Glide™ gantry is designed as a companion to an ultrasonic wash/rinse/dry system. Parts-in standard or custom designed baskets--are manually transported from the load to the unload station.

The Ultra-Glide™ gantry is constructed of heavy gauge steel with a powder coat finish, and is self standing with heavy gauge plates which can be bolted into the floor for added stability. Lift capacity is 150 pounds. An optional, heavy duty version has a capacity of 300 pounds.

Because cleaning, rinse and drying consoles are portable, they can easily slide out for maintenance. Load and unload platforms are included, and are removable.

Two transport options are available: manual and fully automated.

The manual approach utilizes an air cylinder for the vertical lift with cam follower stabilizers. Manual transfer rides on a system of cam followers and is moved horizontally by the operator. The lift is powered by standard shop air and does not need any electrical connections. Air interlocks built into the system prevent parts baskets from lowering in case of loss of supply air.

The Ultrasonic Power automation package option integrates into the gantry system.

Vertical movement is a drive system via a ball screw assembly. Horizontal movement is a belt-driven drive system. Overtravel protection is assured via proximity switches and flag.

Automation controls employ an Alan- Bradley SLC 500 PLC (or equivalent) with a PROFACE System Model AGP3500 color touch screen (or equivalent).

Travel Speed is 100 FPM (max) (horizontal) and 17 FPM (max) (vertical). Positional accuracy is horizontal +/- 0.36" and vertical: +/- 0.2"

Automation PLC will control transport of fixtures through wash/rinse/dry process and ultrasonic time. Non- linear load control allows more than one basket to be cleaned simultaneously.

An automation interface package adds the following controls: ultrasonic wash time; dryer cover has automatic powered sliding opening; and load and unload platforms include optical sensors and basket positioning system.

Ultrasonic Power Corporation, a manufacturer of heavy-duty industrial ultrasonic cleaning systems headquartered in Freeport, IL, offers a full line of ultrasonic cleaning systems ranging from bench top units with smaller tanks (one through 52 gallons), standard cleaning systems of 39, 90, 135 and 204 gallons, and custom consoles up to 1,600 gallons. Custom systems may incorporate automation and lifting gantries. All systems are crafted with stainless steel tanks and skirting.

The Ultrasonic Power Ten-Two Warranty covers the patented VIBRA-BAR® transducer modules and the bond to the radiating surface, which are unconditionally guaranteed not to crack, depolarize or detach from the radiating surface for ten (10) years from the date of shipment. The Ultrasonic Power Corporation generator is guaranteed to be free from defects in workmanship and materials for a period of two (2) years from date of shipment.

UPC serves customers in many markets and industries worldwide, including aerospace and aircraft; medical, surgical, pharmaceutical and orthopedics; computers and semi-conductors; manufacturing and metal finishing; food processing; racing and automotive aftermarkets; nuclear and energy; musical instrument cleaning; golf club cleaning; firearms components cleaning; and disaster and fire restoration.

Ultrasonic Power Corp introduces 5400 Series Generator, a technological breakthrough in ultrasonic cleaning performance

Ultrasonic Power Corp introduces 5400 Series Generator, a technological breakthrough in ultrasonic cleaning performance

Ultrasonic Power Corp has introduced a breakthrough in ultrasonic power sources-the Model 5400 Series generator.

The Model 5400 generator incorporates a new patent-pending circuit which the company has called a "Transducer Status Indicator," which will indicate the status of the transducers connected to each 500 watt output. An LED will indicate if there is a problem.

The new Model 5400 also incorporates an Overheat Protection System Indicator that will protect the generator from high temperatures caused by overheating due to air blockage or fan failure. This will practically eliminate problems with operators forgetting to clean the generators which invariably results in failures, according to Steven Myers, UPC's Manager of Engineering and Product Development.

The Model 5400 generator also includes a PLC input/output connector with On/Off control, intensity control, sweep control, alarm output, and power indicator output and provides the ability to control the generator externally.

Other features include:

  • UP-Sweep ™ -- a 4 kHz variable sweep that eliminates "hot spots" and "dead zones."
  • Automatic short and open output protection.
  • Automatic frequency and load control.
  • Power Intensity Control (PIC), which maximizes flexibility to clean small delicate items or large bulk items.

UPC generators provide consistent, predictable ultrasonic cleaning power throughout the cleaning bath. This proven design provides a constant output power even as the solution temperature or load volume increases.

Like the other Ultrasonic Power Corporation generators (Models 5300 and 5200), the Model 5400 Ultrasonic generator uses solid state circuitry backed by 20 years of field proven reliability and is guaranteed to be free from defects in workmanship and materials for a period of two years from initial shipment date.

Ultrasonic Power Corporation, the leader in precision ultrasonic cleaning technology, headquartered in Freeport, IL, offers a full line of standard ultrasonic cleaning systems ranging from bench top units (one to 52 gallons) to portable 39, 90, 135 and 204 gallon systems.
